Vashon Island Visit

During our trip to Vashon, Bob decided to try out
the Kayak.

He paddled out to Pt. Robinson. I know Nate and Sue would be proud of him.

TEMERATURE RISING! This is the thermometer on our deck!

We have been having a week of very warm weather! Thanks to air conditioners, swimming pools, and the river, we are staying comfortable.
Today we have a golf social, luckily only 9 holes, so we should be able to finish. 110 degrees on the patio calls for fans, and "misters"".

6 things that I like

Anne has asked me to list 6 things that I like:

1) I like to watch Anne, Sue and Ryan hanging out together; it is interesting watching them interact, be silly, poke fun at each other and grow and change together as sliblings and friends.
2) I guess along the same theme, I love planting gardens, watching the flowers grow and mingle together, seeing them attract birds and bugs. The first thing I do in the morning, if I can, is take my cup of coffee with me and walk around my garden (those of you who have been here, know that it is a short walk) but I look to see how each flower bed has changed, pull an ocassional weed, pick off a dead bloom. Pretty exciting stuff. I love pruning but can do without the clean up and often leave it lying around for a week hoping it will disappear.
3) I like Mexico, the culture, the art, the people. Actually, I should say I like Latin cultures.
Spain, and Mexico. There is something about the acceptance of life as it is, the patience of the
people I have met in these places that I admire. I love the food; all cilantro laced and spicy. My next goal is to have a long visit to San Miguel de Allende, in the mountains of Mexico and experience the art, the architecture and the flowers there. Maybe be a one month ex patriot.
4) I like to create things. I enjoy the planning, the process and the surprise at the end of the project whether it be sewing, quilting, planting, painting or cooking.
5) I like that I like quite time when I can be alone without tv, noise, just me thinking about things, or reading about things, or hanging out with Wileycat.
6) I like dancing and singing. Not watching it so much as doing it! (for instance I don't watch shows like American Idol.) I love Karaoke and think that in my next life I will be a great entertainer.

Kiehl's Annual Seafood Fest @ Crescent

Neighbors gather by the river; 22 friends, and
neighbors get together for the 5th (?) annual
seafood extravaganza. Bob, Dean, Jeff, and John
do the seafood, all the others bring salads, desserts,
and whatever. We ate until we fell asleep! There are leftovers enough for another dinner tomorrow night.

We all talked about how this could end in four years!
